About
fellows.directory is an independent, searchable directory of the Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Describe the expertise you need in plain English to get a ranked shortlist, with the reason each Fellow matches and a source for every fact.
Independence
This is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Royal Academy of Engineering. Its mark is a simplified version of the Academy’s, drawn for this project; it copies none of the Academy’s text or photos.
Facts come from the Academy’s own directory and other open sources, and every profile links to its sources. The Data page explains where each fact comes from and how it is checked.
Who made it
fellows.directory was designed and built by Raunaq Bose, a designer and engineer with a background in human–machine interaction (raunaqbo.se, LinkedIn). This is a non-commercial project.
The privacy notice names the organisation responsible for it and explains how personal data is handled.
How search works
Search combines keyword matching with matching by meaning, so a description can find a Fellow even when it shares no words with their profile. A language model reads your request, turns it into search terms and filters, then orders the best matches and gives a short reason for each, using only the facts on each Fellow’s profile. If the model is unavailable, you still get results from keyword and meaning-based matching, without the reasons.
Corrections and removals
If a fact is wrong or out of date, or you are a Fellow and want your profile removed, tell us through the correction form. Every profile has a “Suggest a correction” link to the same form.
Requests are acted on within 7 days. A removed Fellow disappears from every page, search result and map, and stays removed when the data is next updated.
